Terms of Service

By using Gesture Synth, you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

The Service

Gesture Synth is a free online music tool that lets you play and record music in your browser using hand gestures tracked through your camera. The service is provided free of charge, requires no account, and runs entirely in your web browser.

No Warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, or camera. Hand-tracking accuracy depends on your hardware, lighting, and environment, and is not guaranteed.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access, scrape, or probe systems you are not authorized to use
  • Misrepresent the service or its output as your own platform or product

Music you create with Gesture Synth is yours. You may record, share, and publish your performances freely.

Intellectual Property

The gesture-tracking technology behind Gesture Synth is built on open source software. The Gesture Synth name, logo, and site design remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to our branding beyond normal use of the service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gesture Synth and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost recordings, lost data, or lost profits — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Because the service is free and runs locally in your browser, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars ($0).

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
